discipleFIRST AI is a service of discipleFIRST (“discipleFIRST,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a nonprofit organized under the laws of Texas.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect from people who use the discipleFIRST AI chat interface (“Users” or “you”), how we use it, and what choices you have.

What We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to operate and maintain the chat service.

Information you provide:

• The questions and messages you type into the chat.
• Any voluntary feedback (thumbs up/down or comments).
• Optional: an email address or name if you choose to provide it (for example, to request a coaching call). This is not required to use the chat.

Information collected automatically:

• Approximate location (general region based on IP address).
• Device and browser type.
• Date, time, and duration of your session.
• A session identifier (cookie) to maintain conversation flow.

What we do NOT collect or do:

• We do not require you to create an account.
• We do not collect payment information.
• We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
• We do not collect unnecessary personal data.

How We Use What We Collect

• To operate the service and generate responses.
• To maintain and improve the system (internal review of interactions for quality and safety).
• To respond to a coaching-call or newsletter request you submit.
• To meet our operational and legal obligations, or to prevent harm.

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers or third parties for marketing or any purpose other than operating and maintaining the service under strict confidentiality.

Who May Review Your Messages

Your messages may be reviewed only by:

• Authorized discipleFIRST staff or designated reviewers (for quality, safety, and system improvement).
• Technical service providers under confidentiality agreements.

We do not share messages with third parties except as required to operate the service or as required by law.

How Long We Keep Information

Chat interactions are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for system maintenance, quality improvement, and safety purposes, then deleted or anonymized.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to know what information we have, request a copy, request deletion, or correct information. To exercise these rights, email info@disciplefirst.com. We will respond as required by applicable law.

We use reasonable security measures to protect information. No system is 100% secure.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be noted in the chat interface. The “Last updated” date reflects the current version.

discipleFIRST AI Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of discipleFIRST AI (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service. discipleFIRST AI is a digital interactive discipleship tool designed to assist with questions about life, faith, the Bible, and disciple-making, consistent with the beliefs and teachings of discipleFIRST. It is not a substitute for Scripture, personal prayer, conversation with a pastor, discipleship coach, or church leader, professional counseling, medical advice, legal advice, or other professional services.
2. AI Limitations. You acknowledge that:
   • Responses are generated by artificial intelligence and may be incomplete, inaccurate, or theologically imprecise.
   • discipleFIRST AI is not a pastor, coach, or counselor, and is not a replacement for the Holy Spirit or real human relationships within the church.
   • You should always test answers against Scripture and seek wise counsel from qualified people for important decisions.
3. Acceptable Use. You agree not to use the Service for unlawful purposes, to harass others, to submit harmful or illegal content, or to attempt to misuse or reverse-engineer the system.
4. Crisis and Emergencies. discipleFIRST AI is not an emergency or crisis service. If you are in crisis or someone is in danger, immediately call 988 or 911, text HOME to 741741, or contact a trusted person. Do not rely on the AI to provide real-time help or to contact authorities.
5. Your Content. You retain rights to the messages you submit. You grant discipleFIRST a limited license to process those messages solely to operate and improve the Service.
6. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability. The Service is provided “as is.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, discipleFIRST disclaims all warranties and limits liability as set forth in the original draft.
7. Governing Law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Tarrant County, Texas.
8. Changes and Miscellaneous. We may update these Terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, form the entire agreement.
